About

Renew Classes

What is renew?

Renew is a two-semester, once-a-month series of classes. C.S. Lewis once talked about how looking along a beam of light and looking through a beam of light are two different experiences. Looking at it allows you to see the light; looking through it allows you to see everything else. That's what we do in these classes: look deeply at Christianity to better understand it and then look deeply through Christianity to better understand ourselves and the world around us. This kind of deep gazing, when empowered by God's Spirit, is what the Bible calls the “renewal of your mind” and it is one of the ways that Jesus continually transforms people’s lives (Romans 12:2).

Who is it for?

The short answer is: everyone! Whether you are completely new to the Christian faith (and maybe even still exploring your options) or you've been a Christian for a while and want to keep growing and learning, there’s something here for you!

How does it work?

Classes meet every third Wednesday of the month September-May (excluding December). During the first semester, we will look AT Christianity: what do Christians believe? During the second semester, we will look THROUGH Christianity: how does Christianity help us understand the world and live our lives? Each class is about an hour long and most are followed by a Question & Answer session.
