We exist to see lives transformed by Jesus. We are convinced that this sort of transformation takes place as we develop a LOVE FOR GOD, GROW TOGETHER with God’s people and SERVE THE COMMUNITY around us. Whether you have been following Jesus for years, are new to following Jesus or you still aren’t sure what you think about Jesus, there is a seat for you at The Table.
It’s the life-changing, welcoming atmosphere at our worship gatherings that people usually notice first. This, coupled with authentic worship and teaching centered on Jesus, is what makes Sunday morning an experience where people can develop their love for God.
If you stick around, it won’t take you long to discover that we are much more than a Sunday morning gathering. In fact, we’re actually a network of small groups designed to help people like you grow together and develop healthy relationships with people in your community. While Sunday mornings and small groups are central to who we are, there’s more. Together, we are striving to become the kind of church Jesus said he would build. In short, we’d like to embody a love for God and a love for people that allows us to influence, encourage, and impact our entire community and beyond. Jesus’ entire life was about serving others. What we learn from Jesus is that something powerful happens when we stop living for ourselves and start living for others. Our commitment to serve the community is all about helping people discover that serving like Jesus is the key to a life that is more fulfilling than we ever imagined it could be.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three separate yet equal persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
God the Father
We believe that God the Father is the Creator of Heaven and earth. He made man for fellowship with Himself, and the purpose of all created things is ultimately to glorify Him. He possesses all authority and rules the universe. In His grace, He gave His Only Son for mankind’s redemption.
Jesus
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God. He was always with God and is God. We believe that He came into the world, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born to the Virgin Mary, as both fully God and fully man in one Person. Jesus is the only Savior for the sins of the world, having lived a sinless life and died a substitutionary death on the cross for all mankind. After dying on the cross, He rose again on the third day, and eventually ascended back into Heaven where He intercedes for His people and rules as Lord. One day, He will return as the righteous Judge of all creation.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit brings about the new birth of salvation, indwells every believer at conversion, unites believers to Jesus, imparts gifts to believers, and seals believers for the day of redemption.
The Bible
We affirm that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, though written by men, were supernaturally inspired by God so that all its words are the written true revelation of God; it is therefore inerrant in the originals and authoritative in all matters.
Man
We believe that God created mankind as uniquely male and female in His own image so that we might have fellowship with Him. Under the temptation of Satan, man rebelled against God and our relationship with God has been broken. As a result, mankind is sinful and subject to death. Apart from grace, mankind is incapable of pleasing God or even returning to Him. Regardless of effort or willpower, all people are lost and without hope apart from salvation.
Salvation
We believe that Jesus provided the only possible means of salvation through His perfect life, atoning death, and resurrection. We believe that the Biblical formula for salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus alone.
The Church
We believe there is one Universal Church with Jesus as the Chief Cornerstone. The Church exists for the purposes of exalting God, edifying Christians, and evangelizing the world with the message that Jesus saves sinners.

PASTORS | ELDERS
RYAN COX
[pastor/elder]
Prior to entering the ministry full time, Ryan served for four years as a professional Firefighter II/EMT-B for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
Having led Small Groups, a worship team, and preached on several occasions, he officially entered full-time ministry at Severn Covenant Church as the Associate Pastor in January of 2013. In August of 2014, Ryan transitioned from Associate Pastor to his current role, Lead Pastor.
Regarding education, he has received a Certificate of Biblical Studies, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Ministry Leadership with a Preaching Concentration from the Moody Bible Institute.
Anthony and his family have been a part of Severn Covenant Church since 2017. After several years of leading a small group and serving on the Host Team, in 2022 he also began serving on the Sunday Morning Teaching Team. In 2023, he was hired as the Associate Pastor at Severn Covenant Church. Anthony became an elder at the church in late 2023.
Before being hired full-time at Severn, Anthony worked at Stallings Funeral Home of Pasadena where he helped grieving families plan services and handle affairs for their deceased loved ones. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Wake Forest University.
Anthony and his wife, Tiffany, have three children.
David and his family have been a part of Severn Covenant Church since 2012. In that time, he has led the Severn Youth group with his wife, Shayna, served on multiple serve teams and led both a family small-group and a men’s small-group. In 2018, David was hired as the Small-Groups Director at Severn Covenant Church. And in 2022, he was set-in as an Elder.
Before being hired full-time at Severn, David worked at Nationwide Insurance. He has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Communications from Liberty University with a minor in Business Marketing. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Theological Studies.
Geoff and his family have been a part of Severn Covenant Church since 2018 when the military relocated them to the Fort Meade area. He has led a family small group and served on the Host Team, while his family has served with Severn Kids. Geoff joined the elder team at the church in late 2023.
Geoff spent 28 years as a combat engineer in the US Army, living in nine states and two foreign countries. After retiring in the summer 2022, he began working as an analytics manager with a large IT consulting firm. He graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has a master’s degree in Operations Research from Georgia Tech.
Jeremy and his family have been a part of Severn Covenant Church since early
2022. Jeremy and his family became involved with the church through the worship
team, Severn Kids and hosting a small group. In late 2024 Jeremy joined the elder
team.
Jeremy spent 20 years in the US Army beginning as an armor officer and then
spending the majority of his service as an intelligence officer. After retiring, he
joined the consulting firm of Booz Allen Hamilton where he continues to work in
various consulting roles. He graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point
with a degree in Human/Regional Geography and has a master’s degree in East
Asian History from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Jeremy and his wife, JiYoung, have one son, Shawn.
